College Baseball Experience: In the spring of 2011,Ty completed his freshman year at Lincoln Trail Community College in eastern Illinois. As a freshman, Ty came out of the bullpen as one of two left-handed relief pitchers. He continually works hard to achieve his goal of becoming a D1 athlete in addition to earning his degree. He mixes speeds well, inducing many ground ball outs.
High School Baseball Experience:
Freshman Year: Played on the JV baseball team at Kenowa Hills.
Sophomore Year: Played on the JV baseball team at Kenowa Hills for Coach Ted Iciek.
Junior Year: Played varsity baseball for Coach Bruce Oosterhouse. Was 6-0 with a 3.23 ERA in 8 appearances on the mound.
Senior Year: Selected as a Team Captain...went 7-2 leading the team in wins...finished the season with a sub 3.00 ERA in 11 appearances including 3 shutouts.
Personal Information: Academic Athlete 3 times during high school. Ty is a Student Ambassador and President of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Lincoln Trail with a 3.7 GPA.
